There are 3 types of stainless steel and these furnaces are #409
409 - Titanium Enhanced – Not subject to acids like other 2 (#304 & #403)
304 - Has a lot of nickel – soft, shiny looking metal
403 - Similar to 304 but harder. Acid in wood eats at it – Definite "No-No" in furnaces

These have forced air for instant recovery
- No need to drain furnace. Only have to clean ashes out approximately every 3-4 months
- Ned to maintain 9.5% acidity level. Check twice a year with test strip
- An exchanger attaches to water heater and saves on water bill
- Average domestic hot water for 2 people is approximately $25-30 a month, plus $10 for each
- Child & $15 for each teen. - Save this money by purchasing an exchanger
- It will pay for itself in less than a year
(side arm exchanger or plate exchanger)

Acidity in water eats anything – even the 409 steel
- Solution to that problem is the "Boiler Life Plus" additive
(for stainless only - other additives available)
- We can do winter time installs

Lay pipe on the ground then return in spring to put it in the ground
(this requires an available winter sleeve for ultraviolet protection)
- Can either have concrete pad base or Geotextile (which is just as stable)
- Put Geotextile on the ground then crusher run gravel on top
(see pg. 12 of the installation manual for more detail)

Note: The only time Geotextile is not as stable is if sand base or ground is "sandy"

Maxx R Pipe Insulation System
